Turn to God wherever you are

Turn to God wherever you are

Have you ever disobeyed God? Gone against His Word and simply messed up your life? We’ve all been in a place when we’ve strayed away from Him and His perfect will. Where we’ve found ourselves far from Him and we know we need to turn back to Him.

However, the lie that is so prevalent throughout generations is that you need to clean up your act before you go to God.

But God says to simply turn to Him wherever you are.

Regardless of what has been distancing you from Him.
Whether your distance from Him is dragged on through days, months, or even years.

"Regardless of what has been distancing you from Him. God says you can turn back to Him today." (tweet this)

A great example of this is found in Deuteronomy 4. In verses 25-28, God tells Israel that if they turn from Him and His commandments then He will punish them by scattering them abroad and by essentially letting them serve the gods they have chosen over the one true God (isn’t it crazy how so often God’s “punishment” is simply letting us get what we are asking for?).

But without even taking a breath, God gives them a way out through His grace.

In verse 29, God says:

"But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul."

I love how God says “from there” He can still be found.

From where their sin has brought them
From the places they are scattered abroad.
From places far from the area God promises to dwell (Israel)
From where they are spiritually In the midst of their sin.

God can be found.

The same is true for us. Yes, we do need to decide to put away false idols and sin from our lives today and seek Him, but we don’t have to pay penance. We don’t have to do good works in order to balance out our sinful history.

All we have to do is turn:

“To God from idols to serve the living and true God.” 1 Thessalonians 1:9

So let’s not delay! Regardless of whether it’s a “big” or “small” problem between you and God, you can turn to Him right now and enjoy an unhindered relationship with Him.

Let’s be a people who repent daily, and continually enjoy our relationship with our good God.
